Mt. Tom Windmill Project

This document shows my work in progress project of choosing suitable sites to put a windmill or possibly multiple on top of Mt. Tom in Massachusetts. this document highlights the data layers needed to run this analysis as well as the tools that make it possible.  An analysis of the Project and needed data is also contained within this document and when finished it will also show the steps I took to complete this analysis.

Suitable Wind farm Sites in Adams and Pittsfield MA

This map shows two different towns that of Pittsfield and Adams Ma.  The highlighted parcels are the ones which my analysis has shown would be suitable for building of this wind farm project. Though this map shows you the sites that meet the criteria that I was looking at other factor such as proximity to built up areas or roads are not taken into account so further analysis would be necessary to actually build this development.

Westfield Suitable Site Mapping

this map shows a site suitability analysis for Westfield.  this map shows the 25 different suitable location within the bounds of Westfield.  This analysis has yielded many more results than the similar suitability analysis I did for Easthampton which only yielded one suitable location.  This analysis was done by a group that I was a part of.

Easthampton Suitable Locations

This is a map showing the one suitable site that was returned from my site analysis.  this site is suitable to build a new Bio-Tech park on.  This analysis unlike the similar one I did for Westfield which led to many suitable locations this analysis shows Easthampton has only one location.
